Mobile or Online Mail Surveys
Surveys benefiting most from a Web or Mobile survey are those requiring a sample of a specific Internet user population, with the ability to keep costs low and analyze data rapidly.

Although mobile and online research does not work for all target audiences, this method is typically the fastest and most cost effective approach.

Although there are exceptions, the rule of thumb is that mail surveys are cheaper, but also the slowest methodology in obtaining feedback from potential respondents. Mail surveys are preferred for studies where people are concerned about ‘invasion of privacy’, respondents need to see a visual to answer questions, or the population to be surveyed is difficult to reach or too expensive to reach by phone or other methodologies.

Survey efforts benefiting the most from a telephone survey are those requiring a sample of the general population, with the ability to ask for clarification and expansion on respondent answers.

While there is no way to guarantee response rates for any methodology, response rates for telephone surveys tend to be higher.

Additionally, phone surveying is typically more expensive than online, mobile, or mail data collection methodologies.
